Boulies Elite Max Review - Goodbye, back pain

We recently reviewed the excellent Boulies Ninja Pro Gaming Chair, which offers you luxury, ergonomics, and style without breaking the bank. Boulies has kindly provided us with a review sample again, this time for the Elite Max.

This is the highest quality chair that Boulies offers, and that was immediately evident to us from the moment we opened the box. We were impressed by the Ninja Pro, which had already blown us away in this price range. The Elite Max is yet another step up.

Boulies Elite Max Review

As with last time, we will divide this review into several sections. This way, you can jump straight to the section that is most important to you.

Design

As with the previous time, the setup was quite straightforward, since the instructions were fairly easy to follow and practically all the necessary tools were included in the box. There were some translation errors in the user manual itself, but that is nothing that couldn't be overcome.

Similar to the Ninja Pro, what we appreciate most about the Boulies series is their understated design. They are conceived as gaming chairs for individuals with self-respect and blend seamlessly into any environment.

The materials themselves are also a delight to behold - and to the sense of touch. We opted for the faux leather option and were truly impressed by how much it resembled real leather. At no point did it look or feel cheap, and after weeks of testing, there are no signs of wear and tear.

Visually, it is also a handsome chair. Our only minor reservation is that the optional straps that hold the cushions in place (again, these are optional) look somewhat ludicrous from the back, but if you have the chair against a wall, you will never notice it.

Otherwise, everything is positive. It is a plain black chair made of sturdy materials with some stylish white stitching.

Comfort

Here is where the chair truly shines, as it is a pleasure to sit in for hours on end. This is impressive considering how much the chair encourages you to sit in an ergonomic position. With similar chairs, we often feel like we are sitting in an unnatural position.

The cushions help, of course. There is one for the lower back and another for the neck. When you lean back, you feel very well supported and sort of lose yourself in the chair.

It is simply a very comfortable chair, perfect for both gaming and work – and a large part of that is due to the functional set.

Features

Similar to the Ninja Pro, you can also customize the chair to your liking by adjusting the armrests, height, tilt tension, and more at any time. The controls have a pleasing click and you never feel like you're damaging the chair.

However, our favorite feature of all Boulies chairs is the ability to tilt it into an almost reclined position - similar to a business class seat on an airplane. It's great for when you want to play games on your PC with a controller and you don't even miss the sofa.

However, we do have a few complaints, with the biggest one being the height adjustment - even in the highest setting, it's much too low. So much so that one of our two desks wasn't even compatible with the chair as it was a little too high off the ground.

Therefore, be cautious when purchasing this chair if you have a relatively high desk - it's quite possible that it may not be compatible.

Our second complaint concerns the rocking function. While this was nice on the Ninja Pro, with the Elite Max, the chair is simply too heavy to rock. It requires a considerable effort to get it moving, so it feels like an unnecessary addition.

Boulies Elite Max Review – Conclusion

Similar to the Ninja Pro, we are truly impressed by the Elite Max. It's an incredibly comfortable chair that is made of high-quality materials. Its range of features is also a big plus, as it caters to gamers with different needs.

It is also very ergonomic, without feeling so. You never feel as though you are sitting in an uncomfortable or unpleasant position.

Our only real critique is that even at the highest setting, it sits far too low to the ground and therefore is incompatible with certain desks. Additionally, the rocking function is rendered pointless as the chair is too heavy.

But if you're in search of a huge, comfortable gaming chair, you really can't complain about this price.
